What has to be observed when operating induction cookers?

Induction cookers emit time-varying magnetic fields in the frequency range of several kilohertz. The magnetic fields induce eddy currents in electrically conducting cooking pots whereby heat is produced. In the near vicinity of the cooker (within centimeters) higher stray fields may occur. In order to keep exposure levels low, only pots of appropriate size and made of appropriate materials should be used. The tips of the manufacturer regarding safe use should always be adhered to. Measures that go beyond the manufacturer's instructions, e.g. for pregnant women, are not necessary.

People with active body aids (as e.g. pacemakers) are recommended to ask their doctor if their implant is likely to be influenced by electric or magnetic fields of household appliances.
