Ionising radiation Wild mushrooms First find out about caesium exposure – then enjoy

Even 37 years after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, wild mushrooms in Germany can still contain trace amounts of radioactive caesium-137, which was released in the accident. Optical radiation UV radiation and the climate crisis: need for action for cities and municipalities

Especially in day-care centres, playgrounds, and school yards, local authorities consider protective measures such as more shaded areas to be urgently needed. This was the result of a representative survey of around 1,000 mayors conducted by the Forsa Institute on behalf of the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS).
