Environmental management system and reporting
In November 2021, the BfS was honoured as a participant in the European Environmental Management System EMAS for the Berlin, Freiburg, Munich, Salzgitter, and Rendsburg sites. EMAS – the Eco Management and Audit Scheme of the European Union – stands for credibility and transparency in corporate environmental protection. With our participation in the EMAS, we want to make it clear that sustainability is lived at BfS – regardless of location and daily work routine.
The environmental management system of the BfS according to EMAS complies with the requirements of DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 and Regulation (EC) No. 1221/2009 of the European Parliament and of the European Council and thus serves to record and evaluate the environmental performance of the BfS – in which all employees are involved.
With our environmental statements, we provide an overview of the environmental protection practised at our EMAS sites. In particular, the environmental performance of the past years as well as our planned measures and goals for environmental protection are shown.
