BfS employees in action
The commitment of our employees is the key to the operational management of our environmental management system.
In addition to the support of our "Environmental Management Working Group", which is open to all employees, it is primarily thanks to the initiative and commitment of many employees to participate in environmental protection that we have been able to achieve our environmental goals.
Through a regular exchange, all employees are involved in the current topics and goals of environmental protection and are thus also motivated to further anchor environmental protection in everyday work. BfS employees are also trained at information events and involved in the design of environmental management and its improvement through the "Environmental Management Working Group" as well as ideas management.
Ongoing actions
At the Berlin site, BfS employees built an insect hotel. Before long, it showed signs of habitation. We are quite happy about our new neighbours at our location in Berlin. Further insect hotels are now being planned for the Freiburg/Schauinsland and Cottbus sites.
We have also had our flower meadow in Berlin maintained only in the necessary places this year so that all the tiny creatures feel more at home with us. Insects pollinate plants or serve as valuable food for other animals. They are thus an essential component in the balance of nature. We therefore wish to provide them with a suitable habitat on our green spaces through our ongoing efforts.
