Regulatory Framework
|
|
In Germany, the radiation protection regulatory framework requires that
each licensee needs persons who are in charge of radiation
protection matters in relation to the licensee’s type of ‘practice’.
These could be for example technicians, a scientists, medical doctors et cetera who need
- adequate education and training in radiation protection in a form
which depends on the type of practice, on his/her level of
qualification and the radiation protection tasks to be accomplished,
- practical experience in a typical relevant practice, ranging from a few months up to three years and
- task-specific training courses in radiation lasting for a period
of a few days up to several weeks, and ending with an examination. The
training courses have to be recognised by the competent authority.
