Quality assurance of radon measurements
 
Depending on the type of measuring device, the traceability of the measured quantity to a recognized standard or the participation in regular interlaboratory comparisons conducted by the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS) are required to assure the quality of radon measurements. Interlaboratory Comparison of Passive Radon Detectors
 
The Federal Office for Radiation Protection's (BfS) calibration laboratory carries out comparison tests for passive radon measuring devices with solid state track detectors, electrets, or activated carbon. These measurements serve the purpose of quality assurance of the institutions carrying out and evaluating radon measurements either for the monitoring of occupationally exposed persons or in households.
