The BfS Gorleben information centre is located approx. 2.5 km outside Gorleben. The extremely limited availability of local public transport means transport connections are not good and this should be taken into account when planning a visit.

   Arriving by public transport
Hamburg airport
Take the S1 suburban railway or the bus (departs from Terminal 4) to the main station; take the train from Hamburg main station to Lüneburg station, change trains in the direction of Dannenberg Ostbahnhof, take bus no. 1944 from the Ostbahnhof to Gorleben (destination Schnackenburg), alight at the Gorleben bus stop.
Alternatively: Take the bus (departs from Terminal 4) to Hamburg main station; take the train from Hamburg main station to Uelzen, walk 3 minutes to Uelzen bus station, take bus no. 1936 to Dannenberg Ostbahnhof, take bus no. 1944 from the Ostbahnhof to Gorleben (destination Schnackenburg), alight at the Gorleben bus stop.

Take the bus STB1 from Langenhagen to Hanover main station; take the train from Hanover main station to Uelzen, walk 3 minutes to Uelzen bus station, take bus no. 1936 to Dannenberg Ostbahnhof, take bus no. 1944 from the Ostbahnhof to Gorleben (destination Schnackenburg), alight at the Gorleben bus stop.
Other options: take a taxi from Dannenberg Ostbahnhof to Gorleben (approx. 25 km)

Hamburg autobahn
From the A 2 / E 30 onto the A 352, then take Mellendorf exit (A 7 / E 45) and proceed along L 310 through Fuhrberg to Celle,
from Celle continue on to Eschede (B 191) head towards Lüneburg until you get to Uelzen, in Uelzen continue on the B 191 in the direction of Dannenberg,
once past Oldenstedt turn onto the B 493 and drive on through Lüchow to Gorleben.
