The BfS Asse information centre is located approx. 2 km north of Remlingen in the Wolfenbüttel district, right next to the Asse II mine site. When planning your journey you should take into account that there is no bus service to Asse (approx. 2 km on foot from Remlingen).

Hanover airport – Braunschweig main station
Take the suburban railway (S5, every 30 minutes) to the main station, continue on from there with German rail (DB) to Braunschweig main station (every 1 to 2 hours).

Braunschweig main station - Remlingen
Take the bus (no. 420) from the central bus station at Braunschweig main station to Wolfenbüttel, alight at the Breite Herzogstraße bus stop, from there take bus no. 710 to Remlingen (every 30 minutes - 1 hour).

No. 710 20 minutes
Taxi from Braunschweig main station to the Asse information centre (approx. 30 minutes).

 Arriving by car
Hanover - Berlin autobahn
A 2, BS-Nord exit (from Hanover) or
A 2, Wolfsburg-Königslutter intersection (coming from Berlin),
continue on the A 39 in the direction of Kassel, at the Südkreuz Braunschweig intersection change to the A 395, continue on to the Wolfenbüttel exit, head for approx. 3 km in the direction of the town centre (Grüner Platz), then turn left at the B 79 crossroads in the direction of Remlingen (approx. 15 kilometres). Just before you enter Remlingen turn left and follow the signs to Schachtanlage Asse.
Hamburg - Würzburg autobahn
A 7 – Salzgitter autobahn intersection - A 39 in the direction of Wolfenbüttel/Braunschweig, SZ-Süd/Lebenstedt exit, turn right onto the L 495, continue through Wolfenbüttel-Wendessen, then take the B 79 to Remlingen. Just before you enter Remlingen follow the signs for -> Schachtanlage Asse.
