Tegel airport – Karlshorst
From Gates 4 - 12 and from the main hall/Gates 1 - 3 and 13 -17 you can get to the Zoologischer Garten station with the express bus X 9 in approximately 20 minutes. From the Zoologischer Garten station you then take the suburban railway line S3 in the direction of Erkner, alighting at Karlshorst (travel time 28 minutes). Your onward journey then continues with the bus no. 296 (destination U-Bahnhof Tierpark). Ride the bus for approximately 5 minutes to alight at the "Köpenicker Allee" bus stop. Continue on foot in the direction of travel, turn right into Köpenicker Allee and you’ll find the main entrance to the BfS in about 200 m on the right side of the street. For this journey you will need a normal rate AB ticket.
Zoologischer Garten Station or Ostbahnhof
In both cases take the suburban railway line S3 in the direction of Erkner, alighting at Karlshorst. Your onward journey then continues with the bus no. 296 (destination U-Bahnhof Tierpark). Ride the bus for approximately 5 minutes to alight at the "Köpenicker Allee" bus stop. Continue on foot in the direction of travel, turn right into Köpenicker Allee and you’ll find the main entrance to the BfS in about 200 m on the right side of the street.

Surburban railway Ostbahnhof to Karlshorst: 11 minutes
Leave the Berlin circular autobahn (A 10) at Schönefelder Kreuz and continue along the A 113.
After approx. 5 km take the exit for Berlin-Zentrum. Continue along the B 96a until you reach Schöneweide station (approx. 8 km).
Then follow the signs for Karlshorst. Turn right past the Karlshorst suburban station into Rheinsteinstraße. After approx. 800 m turn right into Köpenicker Allee. Drive 200 m and you’ve arrived at the BfS.
