Type approvals of X-ray devices and parasitic X-ray emitters (analogue to the German X-ray Ordinance valid until the end of 2018)

According to § 187 (1) 1 of the Radiation Protection Act the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) is the competent authority for granting type approvals of X-ray devices for non-medical purposes as well as of parasitic X-ray emitters (equipment with unintended X-ray emission) since 31 December 2018.

Further information can be found on the website of the PTB.

Until the end of 2018 type approvals of X-ray devices for non-medical purposes as well as of parasitic X-ray emitters (equipment with unintended X-ray emission) were implemented by the BfS. The BfS commissioned the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) with performing technical type tests. With the Radiation Protection Act coming into effect the competence for these type approvals has changed.

In the following list you will find the type approvals granted by the BfS according to the German X-ray Ordinance valid until the end of 2018.
