Balance sheet and report of the working group "Modernisation of the Federal Office for Radiation Protection"

Balance 1998-2006 and Report of the Working Group “Modernisation of the Federal Office for Radiation Protection”

Changed political conditions in Germany, new scientific findings and a globally strained security situation created new challenges for the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS) in the past years. In the first part, this brochure documents the central aspects faced by the BfS against this background in the period from 1998 to 2006, and shows how the BfS applied and further developed the state of the art of science and technology in its area of responsibility. The second part of the brochure includes the report of the expert group that evaluated the tasks of the Federal Office and the organisational form explicitly established for this purpose.
